The École le jet d'Ancre inc. was founded in September 2004 mainly to answer the demand for professional training in the method of Creative Journaling developed by Anne-Marie Jobin, whose first book was published in 2002. Anne-Marie Jobin was trained first in Social Work (UQAM, 1987) then in Art Therapy (Vancouver Art Therapy Institute, 1994) and had started to develop and teach her own method of Creative Journaling in 1998.
Creative Journaling uses art and writing as gates to allow people to explore their inner life and nourish their creativity. In French, jet d'Ancre means "casting the anchor", but is also a pun with jet d'encre, which means ink jet. The school's mission is therefore to allow people to cast an anchor within themselves through their creative journaling process. The school promotes and develops simple yet efficient self-help tools, allowing people to find their anchor in the midst of modern life in order to feel better and make better decisions.
There are many different approaches to Creative Journaling but the one developed by Anne-Marie Jobin is based on art therapy, psychology, creative writing and creativity. It includes more than 60 different techniques and is being taught now both in Canada and Europe through the work of certified facilitators (over 300 people have been trained since 2004).

Anne-Marie Jobin is the author of 5 books (all in French) and the training has only been given in French so far. The facilitators are mainly working in French speaking countries (Switzerland, France, Belgium and Quebec-Canada) but new trends may be emerging soon.
An online introductory class in English will be offered soon, starting in May 2017. Let us know if you would be interested in participating and we will keep you posted.
The École le jet d'Ancre is located in Granby, Québec but the workshops, professional trainings and conferences can also be offered outside of this area.
