Is the New Creative Journal for You?

Ten Reasons to Say Yes to New Creative Journal

Today, I want to address these phrases I hear all the time:

I don’t have time,” “I’m not good at drawing,” “I’m not creative,” “I don’t really see the point,” “I’d like to try it, but I don’t know where to start,” “It’s like scrapbooking, isn’t it?”…

Every time, I sense there’s a misunderstanding, and I want to explain. I want to say that New Creative Journal is first and foremost a space to breathe, to let go of what’s weighing you down, to listen to what’s trying to be heard… It’s not about artistic skill. It’s a space for inner exploration where writing, spontaneous drawing, and collage help you connect with yourself and with the life within you.

So, is this for you?

Maybe. But it’s up to you…

10 Reasons to Say Yes to the New Creative Journal

1. It’s a safe space to unload the excess

Life can be intense. Having a place to “get things off your chest,” to express what’s on your mind, really helps manage stress. And the pages can hold it all, without judgment. It’s a cocoon-like space… a soothing balm for our days.

2. It’s a soothing break

It’s not a chore. It’s a date with yourself. Even a few minutes are enough to settle in and recharge. Writing until the momentum runs out, coloring in silence, cutting out images from a magazine… it lets you dream, it calms the restlessness, it feels good.

3. It’s a way to get to know yourself better

By expressing our inner world and giving shape to what’s inside us, we come to understand ourselves better. We make connections, grasp what lies behind our reactions, discover our different facets, and get to know ourselves. Words and images shed light on what’s unclear and bring to the surface what remained in the shadows.

4. It helps clarify your choices

By putting thoughts down on paper, priorities become clearer. By expressing feelings, we free ourselves from what’s weighing us down and clear the path. When we have a decision to make, we can freely explore all the options in our journal, untangle emotions, and clarify thoughts.

5. It’s a simple and accessible practice

A notebook, a few pencils, an old magazine: that’s all you need. Inexpensive, available 24/7. And the basics are very simple: connect with your feelings, express yourself, relax with colors. Nothing complicated.

6. It’s a space for complete artistic freedom

No need to be an artist or know how to draw. Here we go back to the basics: line, shape, color, images. It’s about associating a color, a shape, or an image with a feeling. Tired? What color, what shape? We express it on the page. We forget about “beauty.” We doodle, we sketch, we smudge, we play. We let ourselves be carried by the act rather than the result.

7. It’s a way to return to the present moment

Through the practice of New Creative Journal, we ground ourselves in the present; we return here, now, to what is happening. With a line, a color, a phrase that emerges, we follow the flow of the moment and savor what makes up our lives, in all simplicity.

8. It’s a direct path to your creativity

No need to wait for inspiration—it emerges in the very act of putting color on the page. Something unravels, warms up, and comes to life when you make room for it. Surprises arise; you feel guided and inspired—and this has a tangible impact on your life.

9. It’s a way to live your spirituality

You can truly feel that you’re connecting with something greater than yourself when you engage in the New Creative Journal. Giving voice to figures of wisdom, creating inspiring collages, welcoming synchronicities as winks from the universe—all of this has its place in the practice. You feel guided and supported by life itself, and it’s a delightful sensation.

10. It’s a supportive ritual

Like a daily walk or drinking a cup of hot tea, it’s a gentle, regular practice for the soul. The more you practice, the easier it gets. It becomes a need, naturally woven into your daily life. And that’s when you reap the greatest benefits.

New Creative Journaling isn’t just for artists or people who write constantly. It is for those who wish to pause for a moment, reconnect with their inner world, and rediscover meaning, joy, and clarity.

You don’t need much—just a spark of inspiration and a little curiosity. Through words, lines, and images, we find ourselves… and it feels good.
